Philosophy
Clients visiting me can receive a full range of psychiatric services in Newnan, GA. I am committed to educating my clients about their mental health and empowering them in the healing process. My training and life experience as a wife and mother of three has provided me the tools to help individuals and families cope with significant life changes such as trauma, illness, and grief. I approach each client with patience, warmth, and understanding. My intention is to give each client a sense of comfort and trust.
Education
Dr. Nelson is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. She earned her
Doctorate of Medicine degree from Morehouse School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at Virginia Commonwealth University
Dr. Nelson also has additional training in Geriatric Psychiatry from Emory University as well as training and certification in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for severe treatment resistant depression.
She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
