I completed my psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins University where I continued to work as an attending psychiatrist and faculty member for 5 years. I am board certified in psychiatry and neurology and have publications in both esteemed scientific journals and textbooks. I am a proud native New Yorker who cherishes the meaningful work of helping to facilitate change in individuals struggling with behaviors that trigger the reward pathways in the brain such as Binge Eating and Substance Dependence.
My expertise includes the management of Major Depression, Eating Disorders, Panic Disorder and Anxiety with or without the addition of medication, depending on the patient's preference. I have extensive experience in working with patients in various stages of preparation for bariatric surgery and their unique postoperative medication needs.
My current affiliation is with Northwell Health, New York State's largest health care provider and private employer, as an associate professor where I juggle my clinical duties in the department of psychiatry along with my activities in the education of new and future doctors.
